Husband's blog

Sadly, my husband's youngest daughter chooses to no longer communicate with him.
Through the pain, I am amazed at his steadfastness.

Here is the text:

You can't avoid pain
No matter who you are ... whether rich or poor; black or white; Christian, Jew, Muslim; sick or well ... you will never avoid pain. It comes in many forms ... physical, financial, emotional ... thru injury, ridicule, guilt, shame ... but it will come for a visit at some point in your life. Sometimes it comes due to actions you have taken or due to actions taken by others against you, but it will come. It is not so important that it is coming, but rather how you react when it comes. As a Christian, I know that God is watching to see how I deal with the trials and tribulations that hit me during my walk with Him. He is not watching to berate or chide me. He loves me unconditionally and wants me to succeed as I strive to be a little more like His son each day.

When pain strikes, ask God what lesson can be learned from your situation. Pray for your tormentors, if that is necessary. Praise God during good times as well as bad. And know that time really does heal all wounds eventually. You will always bear a scar, but it won't hurt nearly as much as time goes by. God either causes or allows all things that happen in this world. Nothing escapes His gaze. Whatever you are experiencing either falls under the category of "reaping what you've sown" or bearing under the burden of things others have done to you or simply a thing that happens in the course of living your life. God causes or allows these things for a good purpose. We don't need to know the details. Just trust Him that all things always work out for the good of those He loves and for His ultimate glory. Amen.

Is this the same girl that you read her MySpace?

So tragic.

Right now, I have a great relationship with all three of my daughters. But, who knows? It could happen to me, too.

I hope your husband and his daughter will somehow work through their problems.
